  • Beautiful old cemetery, but don't go there to hunt Pokémon.

Was at Wooster Cemetery on 02/23/13. Was told since it was private property there was no picture taking. Was also told since there were burials that picture taking with names was not permitted. Told the employees that death records are public and they prcedded to argue that no death records are public.

Told them there are several places on the internet that pictures from the cemetery are online. One would be Find A Grave. Was told that didn't matter since I was there and not on the site. I asked them why the would allow that site to have pictures if no one was allowed to take pictures. They wouldn't give an answer and told us to go somewhere else.

    Would not recomend to anybody.

  • Hmmm...how do you review a cemetery... This cemetery is very picturesque, very large, with very old and historic grave markers. The cemetery index is at the Wayne County Public Library in Wooster, in the Genealogy section, not at the cemetery business office. The cemetery grounds are well maintained, although many of the little roads throughout the cemetery are gravel and not paved.

  • Old and pretty to look at, despite the dead. Great place for a sunset or hey, I'd even have a picnic here. But when it comes to cemeteries in general -- it's a religious thing, nothing more. The people are dead, the bodies are rotted away and what remains is a waste of real estate and monuments so old that no one even visits any more because all relatives are dead. So strangers like me visit. And take pictures. And there you go.
